Hello all, I just created my very first blog as a class assignment! Hey, if I can do it, anyone can! My interests are the Beatles, foreign movies, and doing word puzzles. Welcome comments on any topics!
I am posting to my blog after completing part of Assignment 7 which dealt with Del.icio.us and Technorati and tagging. I found it interesting to play around with, but I'm not big on inviting strangers to comment on things I've written. I prefer dealing with people I know via e-mail. However I can see the value for people doing research and needing the input of others. I thought it was cool that you can tag some of the Technorati posts using HTML codes.
I thought I'd leave a final blog comment for the last part of Assignment 7. I just completed a paper for my Foundations class on the Future of Libraries, and I'm interested in what I read on the Web 2.0 in libraries. I'm glad these librarians are embracing it, because libraries are service-oriented and user-driven; therefore, if we want to remain relevant (and employed!) we need to respond to what people want. All this Web 2.0 is new to me, but I'm really liking learning about it, and I NEED to know about it.
